Direct marketing refers to the sale of the electricity generated in the photovoltaic system to a direct marketing partner. Photovoltaic systems commissioned after January 1, 2016 must market their electricity directly from an installed capacity of 100 kWp. The information technology connection of the system to the direct marketer takes place via a separate control box, which is coupled with the system monitoring.
Direct marketing is extremely interesting from an economic point of view for existing systems, since the additional management premium can generate additional revenue compared to the regular EEG remuneration. With the end of the 20-year EEG funding period, direct marketing for systems with an output of more than 100 kWp will be the easiest way to continue selling the energy generated.
